Now the kids have started school, I can blow up the house with audio again. Haven’t gorged on Rush in quite a while, Post some of your best songs about traveling. Please do not include some girl on a piano talking about traveling. You gotta drive to it.

Albums. A whole album that can be played start-to-finish is the best for long trips. The original “set it and forget it” where you never have to worry about playlists that you need to create, or stations that constantly miss the mark.
RHCP’s Blood Sugar Sex Magik was always one of my top choices. I’m also partial to just about any 2-3 disc Dave Matthew live concert. Central Park 2003 was amazing.
If you have kids and need it family-friendly, then Barenaked Ladies’
Snacktime
.

I would add most of The Mars Volta’s discography to that list, awesome concept albums.

Not a song that I listen to normally but it’s a fun road trip song and it annoys the shit out of my wife when I sing along to it so bonus points for that.

I’ve always found REM’s Green to be an excellent driving album as well as Cracker’s Kerosene Hat.
As far as Travel songs are concerned from the previously mentioned albums I think
Stand, Eurotrash Girl and
Dr. Bernice stand out in particular.

“And you pointed your headlamp toward the horizon,
We were the one thing in the galaxy God didn’t have his eyes on.
900 cc’s of raw, whining power, no outstanding warrants for my arrest.
Hi diddle dee dee, goddamn, the pirate’s life for me."
